Want to dance with the niad dance company student troupe?

That's wonderful! We would love to have you join us. The niad dance company student troupe holds auditions once a year for new members. We also have an apprentice troupe that meets weekly so that dedicated dancers can begin developing the skills and choreography knowledge for troupe performance. We are dedicated to putting high quality transnational fusion dance on the stage and out into the community and we are always looking for dedicated and enthusiastic dancers to be a part of what we are creating!

Step 1: Join us for classes and events at the niad studio. All of the choreographies we perform as a group are original pieces created and taught by niad troupe director, Jaidra DuRant. You can learn these pieces through regular weekly sessions, private or semi private lessons, or workshops. Also, a big part of our studio mission statement is to build a supportive community. Come and get to know our dancers!

Step 2: Build up your dance skill, repertoire, and costume closet. Troupe members are expected to take regular weekly classes and continue their dance education and must be able to maintain a costume closet for performance. It takes time to build all of your skills and your wardrobe, but it's worth it!

Step 3: Join the apprentice troupe, and then when the time is right, audition! Auditions will be announced at least a month ahead of time to allow you time to prepare. Dancers must prepare two dances, one of which must be a troupe number. *Auditions and apprentice troupe are currently suspended due to the global pandemic, but we hope to resume normal studio activity as soon as possible. Everything else here still applies.
