Henna Body Art

Henna is a naturally occuring stain. The paste is made from the ground up leaves of the henna tree mixed with essential oils, lemon juice, and raw sugar. Artists apply the henna paste to skin and once the paste has flaked off, an orangish stain remains on the skin. The stain will darken over the course of 2 to 3 days, leaving a red-brown design that will fade as the skin exfoliates over the next 1 - 3 weeks.
